Nel caso ti ricapiti: cancella la cartella download in Windows/SoftwareDistribution ( e' dove windows scarica gli aggiornamenti ).
Puoi provare anche ad installarli manualmente da lì aprendo le cartelle con il lunghissimo codice e la relativa sottocartella e poi update.
Probabilmente qualche download ti e' andato male e incasina tutti gli altri.
Non e' che per caso hai XP con SP2 Corporate Edition??

prova a rifare la connessione con utente a psw da risorse di rete... poi crea nuova connessione
