Cosa E' Ampx 2.4.6

Cercando di vedere alcune tv digitali con il mediacenter, alcune volte mi viene chiesto di installare il software ampx 2.4.6 della aol.inc, ma cosa e'? posso fidarmi o mi fanno connettere a qualcosa di strano a pagamento?
Grazie e scusate se la domanda puo' essere stupida ma sono nuovo.
