Come Cresce l'iptv




I servizi di televisione via rete IP (IPTV) stanno aumentando il loro numero di utenti: lo afferma una ricerca Gartner secondo cui il numero attuale di utilizzatori di IPTV nell'Europa Occidentale sarà di 3,3 milioni alla fine del 2006 e di 16,7 nel 2010. Nonostante questo incremento, i servizi di IPTV impiegheranno ancora qualche anno prima di essere effettivamente una fonte di business importante per i carrier, a causa della concorrenza rappresentata dalla pay TV satellitare, dalla televisione classica e dal digitale terrestre.
Come conseguenza, dal 2006 al 2010 il giro d'affari della IPTV crescerà ma per arrivare a somme relativamente basse: da 336 milioni di euro quest'anno a 3 miliardi nel 2010.


La Francia è il Paese più avanti nel segmento della IPTV, secondo Gartner: rappresenta circa la metà (1,7 milioni) del parco utenti di IPTV stimato per fine 2006, con un giro d'affari di circa 141 milioni di euro.
