Error: Directx cannot innitiate.

Hi all,

I received an invitation a week ago to download Joost. But It doesn't work in my computer.
When the software shows you the requirements and the properties of the computer, I noticed that I had a directx version below the 9.0c required. Aterwards, I downloaded directx 9.0c, it is supposed to replace the existing version in the computer and no problem. However, when the installation of directx 9.0c takes place, an error message appears mentioning that an important file can't be installed, so the installation of 9.0c version isn't done properly ( I tried to download directx from two different sites: same error).

When the software checks again the properties of the computer, it detects directx 9.0c in the computer but since the installation was not completed properly, when launching Joost the following message appears: "Directx cannot innitiate".

Has someone had the same problem? Why this error installing directx?

Please, I need your help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

i occurred in the very same problem a while ago. i bypassed the error by disinstalling directx-9oc and reinstalling directx-9 to which i got no warning message and offing-oning my comp. now it all works fine. don't ask me why, for i got no logical answer to it. but i am positive some of the smart guys of this happy forum will get back to you with the right procedure to solve your situation.

have a nice one.
